Sports Nutrition for CrossFit
If you’re looking to lose weight, gain muscle and improve performance then you’ve come to the right place.
Sports Nutrition is the cornerstone of athletic performance.
If you train hard and show up consistently but don’t take care of your diet then you are not reaching your full athletic potential. Or, maybe, you are trying to take care of your diet but you’re not getting the results you would expect.
There are many different types of diets and it can be confusing and overwhelming. People often come to us wondering whether they should follow:
Paleo?
Zone?
Intermittent Fasting?
Flexible dieting?
5 + 2?
HFLC?
The list goes on….
What is a great diet or nutritional plan for one person is not necessarily so for the next.
Sports Nutrition needs to be individualised, specific and responsive to your needs.
We offer services to:
- assess your current diet,
- analyse your body composition,
- implement the right eating plan for you and,
- evaluate your results – there’s no shooting in the dark here.
Dialling in nutrition is so important that it reads as the very first lines in CrossFit founder’s Greg Glassman’s “World-Class Fitness in 100 words,”
Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.
